Why do missionaries fail?

Many times it’s for preventable reasons.

Greetings,

I would like to direct your attention to my latest blog post at www.missionaryoutfitters.org. In it I outline several reasons (surely not all) that missionaries sometimes fail. I want to point out that perhaps I should have renamed the post “Why missionaries sometimes leave the mission field prematurely.” That would be be a little more accurate, but, maybe a little less compelling.

It is part one of 2 parts. The next post gives of the measures that can be used to prevent such a high rate of attrition. In the post some staggering statistics are given about the astounding numbers of missionary attrition. Also the numbers reinforce the need for ministries like Missionary Outfitters whose mission is to minister to those missionaries on the edge of leaving the field.

Please do me a favor.
Please take some time to read the article and then do me a huge favor and spread it around. Invite your friends (real or FB) to read the post and sign up for the newsletter. Put the link in your church bulletin and mention it to your missions committee.  The more that read and are informed the better.

Missionary attrition does not just affect the missionary, it affects the whole kingdom of God. As our representatives in far away places, they fulfill the great commission. When they leave for preventable reasons it stops our outreach through them.  It is also a large financial loss as the many churches and individuals who have supported them “lose” their investment.

As a mission to missionaries our great passion is to give them the member care (shepherding) they need when no one else is available.  Please help us to do that by partnering with us financially and in prayer.

Blessings in Jesus,
