| As I write this, my heart goes out to the families that lost loved ones or had loved ones injured in the terrorist attacks on Brussels. I agree with many that this isn’t only an attack on Brussels, but an attack on Europe itself. I also saw on the news where ISIS has plans for more attacks on Europe. What are we to do?
As I travel to India or Africa, I go through Europe to get to my destination, but have never thought of it being dangerous. Maybe because when I travel I am usually by myself. But I have a college age daughter that is traveling to Paris in a couple of months for a study abroad program this summer. I have to admit that I have been very nervous for her, and my wife more so than me.
But I only have to go as far as the Bible to see the answers I need:
Hebrews 13:6 ESV So we can confidently say, ” The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Joshua 1:9 ESV Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Matthew 28:20 ESV Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
There are many verses to see that God is always with us through whatever we do or wherever we go. We have to trust in Him ALWAYS. These verses help me to see my daughter will be fine and I know she will show the love of God as she travels to and through Europe.
So again I ask, What are we to do? Let us pray for Europe, but also pray that someone or something will show the True Light to ISIS. |
