Today’s mail brought a summons to appear at the USCIS office in Atlanta on September 30th for fingerprinting. We are most grateful for this step which moves Dennis closer to the interview and the completion of the naturalization process. Thank you for your continuing prayers.
Mike who is our friend we are assisting in outreach to the SKT people on Ambon’s north coast writes today of indications that people are suspiciously monitoring his actions. Pray for wisdom, boldness and the power of God to be unleashed mightily in this village so close to churches and people who wear Jesus’ name, but so far from the Kingdom of God.
You have prayed with us for an open door for Speedy and his family to live and serve in our city. Please intensify those prayers. On the evening of the 13th he arrived in the capital city, and then on Sunday, the 14th, arrived in our city after agonizing hours working out a replacement domestic ticket for the fight he missed because his international flight was late. He is working with Janes, our son-in-law, developing a Kingdom Business necessary for him to secure long term work and stay permits. He is far away from his wife and his four-year-old son. Please pray for him and his witness. He is trusting the seeds he planted on his April – June trip will bear fruit. Join us in that prayer.
Dennis is enjoying deepening his understanding of the methodology God is blessing to give Disciple Making Movements around the world, even in the Muslim world and America. He has opportunity to scratch his cross cultural itch with trips to Clarkston/Decatur in metro Atlanta (little over one hours from Carrollton). There he has been privileged to speak of Jesus’ love and power to Muslims from Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Congo, and Somalia. One person in Clarkston was sporting a t-shirt, “Love Clarkson, Love the World.” This is certainly true of a city where the 1000 students in the local high school speak 50 languages. Still in DeKalb county and only few miles away is an Indonesian community. Most of them appear to be Chinese and a large percentage profess faith in Jesus.
For the next six Sundays (except October 19th) Dennis will be preaching for the Bethany Christian Church in Carrollton. On the 19th of October he will be with the Winter Haven (FL) Christian Church for a missions emphasis. October 6,7 and 8 (Monday through Wednesday) he will preach in revival services at the Whitsburg (GA) Christian Church.
It’s 35 days … 5 weeks … or as our Javanese friends say, “satunggal lapan” until Dennis welcomes his sweetie back to Georgia!
Until all Clearly Hear,
Dennis and Lynn Free
