Greetings from Taiwan:

“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens” (Ps 68:19).  This verse was my “Verse of the Day” from my daily reading Bible app.  It was exactly what I needed to begin the day.  Where do we turn when the body, soul and spirit are weak — when we feel like we can’t go on?  Praise be to God, we have a Savior, who daily bears our burdens!

This morning we loaded the shipping container, all 40 feet of it!  Other than the driver (who over-slept, got lost and was 1 1/2 hours late), we had a lot of good help; both hired and volunteer.  The container was fully, and I do mean “fully,” loaded in less than 2 1/2 hours.  Thank you, Lord!  The container, Lord willing, will sail from Kaohsiung to Vancouver, and rail its way to Detroit, arriving on or around August 2nd.  On the emotional side, words can’t express how it felt to watch the truck pull away from our home of 11 years, on Wen-xin Street.

Tomorrow, the Lord’s Day, Come Church has planned a worship and fellowship meal somewhere up in the mountains east of Taichung.  All we know is what time we’re leaving.  Please pray, as this will be our last time to worship with the Come Church before we say farewell.  (Wow!  That was hard to write!)

Please pray for my mother, Juanita, who was admitted this past week to Mercy Hospital, in Cincinnati, with stoke-like symptoms.  While in the hospital, while trying to get up, she fell and hit her head in the same spot where she was injured a few months ago.  She is set to be sent to a local rehab center to regain strength.  Please pray with us as we determine the best course of action in caring for mom.

Please also pray for our Sports & English Camp, now just 3 weeks away.  Much to do as we prepare to welcome 144 teenagers and 50 faculty for our 9th annual S & E Camp!

Thank you for your prayers!  We’re all really tired, but rejoicing, having felt the Lord over and over again bearing our burdens — all in response to your prayers.

Blessings to you and yours!
