Dear friends, family and supporters of South American Christian Mission,

Howdy!  We send greetings from the green mountains of Colombia’s Central range of the Andes mountains.  My apologies for the delay in getting this sent on to you.

Rumbling in the Andes
We praise God for the tool which many of  you helped us to obtain, the Royal Enfield Rumbler 500.  It now has over 12,000 kilometers on the odometer and has proven to be a true blessing in my travels.  In May alone I had to travel twice to Bogotá and the bike made the trip quick and fairly pain free, in spite of the rainy weather which beset the country at the time. We thank God for His provision and for those of you through whom He provides for us so that we may continue to live and work here in Colombia.

Cooperating Churches
The reason for which the trips were made to Bogotá was to participate in a meeting with leaders from other cities in Colombia to discuss ways in which we can continue to work together for the Lord’s Glory.  We are recognized by the Colombian government through a set of bylaws drawn up back in 1997, but there are many things we’d love to change in order for them to better reflect the spirit of the New Testament.  Prior attempts have been fruitless so this time we’re attempting a simple revision.  We’re praying that this will give us a change by which we’ll be able to continue the process in the future.

Continuing Education
Another project that has been ongoing for the past few years is continuing education. Sheri has been studying online to fulfill the requirements for obtaining her Bachelor’s degree.  She’s been doing so as funds and time allow and we praise God for the new technology which allows her to do so.  I have been doing a college level course on World View and Community Transformation which was organized by a group from Brazil.  Both of us are doing our best to continue to improve ourselves for the ministries to which the Lord has called us.

Thank you!
We are indeed grateful for each of you who make it possible for us to live and work here in Colombia.  This year we are celebrating 30 years in the Lord’s ministry, having worked in Brazil and Colombia during that time.  Sometimes it’s hard to realize that so many years have already passed as we continue to do our best to glorify our Lord and Savior through our lives and ministries.  We are grateful that you are a part of this.

In Christ,

Paul and Sheri Moreland
