That is not just a cute catch-phrase, “Your Support is Making a Difference”; it is the absolute truth. Because of the faithful support of our monthly & yearly donors, we (together) are making a difference around the world for those who are living in Extreme Poverty.
One story I want to share with you is that of Pastor Houston Emma Byakatonda and the Faith Orphans Care Shelter Uganda. Pastor Houston is truly caring for the “least of these”. Pastor Houston is the founder of a young Non-denominational, independent and fast growing church called Kalwanga Christian Church in Mubende, Uganda. He is also the founder and Director of Faith Orphans Care Uganda which is a mercy based project that has the goal of helping the orphaned and needy children of Uganda who are most affected by the death of their parents as a result of HIV/AIDS, civil wars, floods, famine, etc.
They strive to help these kids meet their basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and education. Currently there are over 360 children which they care for on a daily basis. They seek to provide the most loving and compassionate care possible to the orphaned and impoverished children in Uganda and to show through their service that every child, regardless of their needs, deserves to experience God’s love and should be treated with dignity and care. Through donations provided to SOTIRIA, we were able to assist them in planting maize in February. In July they received a harvest of 3,000 kg of maize.

With this they have sold some in order to secure land for planting this month, since there are 2 growing seasons in Uganda (Feb – July and Aug – Jan), ground some into maize flour for cooking, sold some in order to buy beans, and have kept some to eat.
