Dear Friends and Supporters

NIGERIA

A Seminar for Sunday School teachers was held on February 19. Evangelist Sunday Obeten emphasized the importance of making the classes not just informational, but transformational. This is necessary to fulfill the Great Commission and keep the Church growing.

All congregations observed Children’s Day on February 12. The theme was “Let The Little Children come to Jesus” (Mark 10:13-16). Parents were encouraged to bring their children to be taught about Jesus while their hearts are tender. The children participated in various activities including praise and worship, Bible drill and recitation, dramas and dance.

Construction of the Nursery School has started with work on the foundation and poured concrete floor. $20,000 has been raised for this project, $30,000 is still needed.

IVORY COAST

TEE classes continue even though there have been some political problems within the country that included violence. The unrest has cooled for the moment. The problems have not been fully solved and violence could resume. TEE graduates are serving the churches in the capacity of leadership and discipleship training of members.

GHANA

We have $24,000 in the project fund for putting a Supervisor for TEE (leadership Development) in northern Ghana. The funds will be used to purchase a crew-cab 4X4 pickup for the supervisor and rent for a house and office in Tamale. A building lot in Tamale has been purchased for this project. We Still need $15,000 to get this project started and an additional $10,000 to complete it this year. The need and opportunity for leadership development for newly started churches in northern Ghana is great.

PRAISE AND PRAYER REQUESTS

1. Thank God that funds continue to come in for the two projects for 2017: Supervisor for TEE in northern Ghana and Nursery School in Nigeria.

2. Thank God for the successful Sunday School teachers seminar and the Children’s Day in Nigeria.

3. Thank God that TEE classes are able to continue in Ivory Coast even though there is political unrest in the country.

4. Pray for political peace in Ivory Coast.

5. Pray for funds to put a Supervisor for TEE in northern Ghana.

6. Pray for funds to complete the Nursery School in Nigeria.

7. Pray for the church planters in northern Ghana as they face many challenges working among unreached people groups that have very little literacy and a background of folk-Islam – a combination of animism and Islam.
