It was 2 years ago, maybe not to the minute, but to the day when we said our ‘goodbyes’ and loaded up to come to France. It was not a smooth day of moving but we made it and are blessed to be doing and living what we do. The last year has brought as many challenges as year 1 did. We’ve made some great progress and had a few moments of not so perfect mis-steps. The past 6 months have been a roller coaster of effort and emotions, full of all the joys that church planting in a post christian culture can bring. We’ve made some very good contacts with a few Christians who live in the area, many of them are foreigners who either live here after retirement or have settled here for work. This will be a great core group to move ahead with in the future. Pray for this group of individuals as we begin to live community together and at least for one of them (a former cult member) that a true image of Jesus and his desire to live among us and for us to be reconciled with him will emerge. To wrap up all of this, we will be sending out and posting a ‘Year 2’ in review (much like we did for year 1) within the next week. That report will be posted here, sent to you via email and maybe even by regular mail. This will help you to know more about what we are doing, how we can pray with each other and give you some opportunities on how to further partner with us for the next year. What’s coming up for us? Nikki has a training event in the Paris area Thursday and Friday. Pray for her with travel and the event itself. This means Ophelia and I will most likely be eating popcorn as much as possible. Looking forward to that! Our teammates Becki and Emmanuel will be going on vacation, so pray that they will have a restful time while away in Germany. We’re around 5 weeks from kicking off our exploration group ‘Je kiffe mon église’. Pray for the process of writing, sharing and living vision together. Happy New Year to all of you and thank you very (very) much for all that you do to help the Kingdom of God grow and multiply in places far and wide.
