OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

RESTORE is officially one year old! On October 16th we held our largest service since opening weekend and it was truly a day to celebrate. Neighbors, family members, co-workers and friends were invited by our regular attendees- and they came! RESTORE Kids was packed. Our staff and volunteers served with joy. Nearly everyone stayed for a catered meal following the service. Even the weather was beautiful. We are so grateful that God gave us the opportunity to fully enjoy the occasion.

Every chance that we get to help people find and follow Jesus is one that we want to take full advantage of and we are beginning to see the fruit from a year of faithfully ministering here in Quincy.  Some of examples of this include:

During the service on October 16th we had the privilege of sharing Bob’s story.   Bob has been with us since our launch Sunday last year and has become one of our key volunteers.  Here’s a link to watch a video of his story.

In September we walked out into the Atlantic ocean and baptized two women who have been attending RESTORE and we’re having additional conversations currently that will likely lead to others.  Follow the link to watch a video of the baptisms.

We have four home groups that are meeting weekly this fall and an additional discipleship group that meets every other week.

On October 30th we are hosting an event for the children of our community (a Trunk or Treat Movie Night!) and it already promises to be well received. The event is free and we view it as a great opportunity to care for our local families.

We are thrilled about the way God is working through RESTORE right now, and we look forward to the days ahead as He continues to use us for His glory. Please join us in praying for the people of Quincy- that God will use RESTORE to help more people find and follow Jesus.

CICERO CHRISTIAN CHURCH

In early October, a group from Cicero Christian Church in Indiana came to Quincy to learn more about who we are and why we’re here, They did an incredible job loving and serving our city alongside us. Having them here was a huge blessing and an encouragement! They helped us by putting fliers and door hangers throughout Quincy neighborhoods for our one year anniversary called A Day to Celebrate. They also served a local organization called the Sanger Center for Compassion by delivering food to different homes throughout Quincy. Having the relationship with the Sanger Center and having teams serve through them is not only a way for RESTORE to serve our city, but it also helps us partner and connect with an awesome local organization.  Thank you, Cicero Christian Church, for a great week!

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

This month we had a team of 6 students from Lincoln Christian University come to serve with us for a week. During this week they helped us prepare for our Trunk or Treat event that is on October 30th.  As a team they stuffed over 600 bags of candy! They also delivered 300 of these as door hangers in neighborhoods surrounding our church. The other 300+ will be used at the event. The team also had a chance to meet with staff members from REUNION Christian Church, another Restoration House plant in Boston, and Sojourn, a campus ministry at UMass Boston. They also helped us to serve in other ways, such as delivering food for the Sanger Center and cleaning our church building. We are thankful for this teams’ help and the opportunity to show them some of the work RESTORE is doing in Quincy!
