RHM Cross-Cultural Prayer, Praises & Petitions

Chinese To Christ Ministry (C2C)
IBCC China – Wing Wong

  • Thank you for praying for our ministry in Guangdong, China! Silas returned to the town to lead Bible studies and worship. Although the police have not returned, they took items from the church which included Bibles and hymn books.  Still the church managed to worship in a Sister’s home with songs written on poster size paper. Some Christians are now afraid to come primarily for financial reasons. If the police blacklist them, they fear that the government may withhold their benefits. I suppose this is something that only those who live in the socialistic system can understand!

  • We have a good start in Guizhou. Praise the Lord that our missionary couple has made 10 new contacts in just a couple of weeks! They are making friends with individuals and treat them to dinner in their home. Some have shown interest in the Gospel already! Please continue to pray for wisdom so their evangelistic outreach will be effective.

Having fun preparing supper for new found friends!

  • Person of the month:  Gu Lian, Tam.  She came to know the Lord after we planted the church in Guangdong with Silas and was baptized in 2000. After she became a follower of Jesus, her husband was very angry and started beating her. One of those times, he beat her so hard that she almost died. However, she has never left her faith. She insisted on studying the Bible and worshipping God. She never fought back or quarreled with him. Instead, she always asked us to pray for her husband. Now, she is one of the leaders and a Bible teacher in the church. Recently, her husband blamed her for bringing bad luck to the family because of her faith. When he found out he has heart disease, he blamed her for it. He also blamed her for not having any grandsons in the family. Actually the Lord has blessed them with three beautiful granddaughters! Please pray for Gu Lian and her husband!

  • Give thanks to God that Sister Xiao Zhen Su’s husband, Kwok Kuen Tsang, has recovered well from his brain surgery three months ago. We praise God for several families in our church who supported this family financially during this period. Mr. Tsang has started to work part-time at the restaurant. He also occasionally attends worship.

  •  We have an elderly sister, Mother Cheng, who is 96 years old and has not felt well recently. She lives an hour away from our church and comes with her son-in-law and daughter. Her presence is always a model and encouragement to our congregation. Please pray that God would keep on using her to show His glory.

  •  We have tried to open our church building to the elderly Chinese in this community, but the response has not gone well. Please pray for wisdom and opportunity in ministering to the elderly Chinese community.
