Chinese To Christ Ministry (C2C)
IBCC China – Wing Wong

  • The Chinese government have recently revised religious laws which will ultimately affect our ministry within the country. It mandates all religious organizations to assist the government thoroughly by executing laws, regulations, constitutions and policies. This means local churches will be responsible for the education and monitoring of their member’s compliance to communist party rules. Hence, we will not be allowed to set up religious “schools” even through the internet or within house churches. We, as non-licensed religious workers in China, will now be breaking the law even if we baptize a person, host a communion service, or even in the act of leading prayer. Through these new revisions in religious laws, we will not be able to hire or support our evangelists, local missionaries, and churches. We will also not be allowed to bring in Bibles and other religious literatures beyond our personal usage.   Please pray that God will give us wisdom and open new ways for us to continue make disciples for Him in China!

  •  Please pray for the churches and church leaders in Cong Hua, Sichuan, Guangzhou, Jiangsu, and Wenzhou as they face mounting pressures from the Chinese government. Last week, the police pried open the doors of one of our churches near Cong Hua and took pictures. Our evangelist in Sichuan was ordered to give the details of our “clients” to the police. Many house church leaders in Guangzhou were summoned for questioning and ordered to stop meeting as a church. The government authority in Wenzhou commanded schools to order the parents not to take their children to church or attend Sunday school. In Jiangsu, house church leaders are ordered to give to the police the identities of their family and other key leaders.

  •  Praise the Lord! Despite such pressures, we had 37 baptisms last months! Seventeen of those conversions were the result of our summer school and camp this year!

  • Praise the Lord that our Chinese missionaries in Guizhou, Jingqian and Nikki, have been making new friends daily and started two Bible studies! Please pray that we will not run into any complications that might hinder their ministry in Guizhou.

  • Praise the Lord! Twenty church leaders in Henan are taking my “How to Study Bible course online (IBCC).” Praise Him for we are also about to finish the translation of “Building Blocks for Bible Study” written by Dr. Peter Verkruyse (Lincoln Christian University), which will be our new textbook for this class! Please pray for these church leaders as they take these lessons and learn to positively impact their congregation.

  • Praise the Lord that our ministry in Manchester NH has expanded from Discipleship Training to Cantonese small group for fellowship and evangelism, and now to the Chinese university students! We have organized a Christmas event at the university in December to kick off our ministry to the Chinese students. Our goal is to win these students to Christ so they can take the Gospel back to China and win more people to Christ in China. We have already enlisted three churches in this area to help us, including Manchester Chinese Christian Church and Londonderry Christian Church. Please pray that more churches will come alongside with us to bring the Gospel to these Chinese Students.

Manchester Chinese Christian Church
Brandy Lee – Manchester, NH

  •  Minister Brandy Lee will visit his family in both Hong Kong and Taiwan from 10/3 to 10/26. Several members of the church will visit China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in October. Please pray for the stability of the church in this period.

  • One of the board members of our church, Joe Wang, will be the speaker while Brandy is absent. Please pray that God will empower Joe to prepare and deliver God’s word clearly and faithfully to the congregation.

  • Minister Wing Wong has just shared his plan to reach the Chinese students in the local university here. Please pray that the congregation will support this ministry and get involved in this service.

New Life Cambodian Christian Church
Rinn Sim – Lowell, MA

  • Pray for Pros Chum with his son and daughter just arrived in America. Thank God that they desired to find a place to worship their first week in the country. God led them to us. Now pray that they will grow in their knowledge and dependence on Jesus Christ as they adjust to life in the United States.

  • Ask God for healing for Tek Ros, a friend, who needs God’s physical and spiritual touch. Pray that his healing will result in spiritual wholeness too.

  • Please pray for all that we need to get done to spread the Good News of Jesus so that more people will come to him. As we reported so often, Cambodian people find it difficult to trust people and to have faith in the personal God, Jesus Christ. Most often, people want to add Jesus to their other gods. Lack of trust makes it difficult to believe how much God loves them and wants to have a relationship with them. Pray that God will raise up more Cambodian believers who long to share their faith with others. We need leaders and teams that will help to reach our community for Jesus.

New Hampshire Korean Christian Church
Eunho Moon – Bedford, NH

  • Praise the Lord! Michelle Yu, one of our teenage students, recently made a decision to be baptized later this month. Pray that God will grow and strengthen her as she takes this step in her faith journey.

  • Thank God for a new family joining us. Im Hyusun attends now and hopes that her husband will join us soon. They are both pharmacists living in Manchester. Pray that they will receive our church’s welcome as we all grow in faith and love.

  • Please keep praying for Seongja Williams who suffers from continual nerve pain. She hasn’t been able to use her hands for driving, lifting, or anything without experiencing pain. Due to this physical condition she hasn’t been able to attend church for most of the summer. Please pray for the Lord to provide miraculous healing for her body and encouragement for her spirit.

  • SB Lee and his family ask for prayer as they are experiencing a difficult season of life. He loves the church and faithfully serves. They are struggling because a recent job opportunity will require them to move to back to Korea. Please pray for God to provide clarity to the whole family as they decide what to do.

  • Our young adults have started meeting for small group bible study once again as the new school year begins. Janet, a Korean medical student, joined us last week! Please pray for our young adults and students as they grow in their relationship with and understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Thank you for your prayers!

Oasis Christian Church Liberian
Christic Marblow & Peter Sarmie – Providence, RI

  • Ask God to strengthen Christic as he works full-time and attends seminary. He wants to strengthen his gifts for God’s glory and purpose.

  • Thank God for the efforts the church is making to strengthen the body and to reach the unchurched in south Providence. Magarett Sarmie and her sister continue to impact the congregation and community.

  • Pray that God will guide the planning for our fall outreach event.

  • Ask God to provide a reasonably priced, visible, and accessible meeting space for the church.
