All aspects of the PNHIs work in Ecuador and Peru is doing very well, but there are a couple of special noteworthy events. Nearly a decade ago, a young child moved to Trujillo, Peru with her family from Chandler, Arizona. Today, that same child, Skylar Bukta, has returned to the USA as a beautiful woman and mature servant of Christ. Skylar and the Bukta family are on a short furlough to visit their extended family, and get Skylar settled in Lakewood, Colorado. She plans to work and attend Colorado Christian University later next year. Please keep Skylar’s big move in your prayers.
PRE-TEEN GROUP FROM SANTA MARTHA Adopt-a-Block The pre-teen group is starting to do more in their community. It is not easy for them to go door-to-door and talk with their neighbors. But day by day, their confidence grows, and day by day more youths join their group. They are sharing what they’ve learned with others, talking to them about alcoholism, drug addiction, respect, obedience, and healthy relationships. The neighbors are pleased to learn that the youth are doing constructive things instead of joining gangs and tormenting the neighborhood. One of the main reasons we do Adopt-a-Block is to show people what is going on in their neighborhoods and prove to them that we want to be a part of transforming the barrio for the better. Read more
