The goal of Project New Hope is to give hope to the suffering, socially abandoned, economically trapped and spiritually seeking in Santo Domingo, Ecuador, and Trujillo, Peru. PNH works with nationals in the communities, establishing churches to empower the poor to experience personal and community transformation, using the key strategies of Community Health Evangelism (CHE) and Bible storytelling.

Merry Christmas from Project New Hope!

Thank you for praying and being part of Project New Hope in 2015. We’ve had another blessed year and we want to thank you for making this ministry possible.  With the dedication of prayer warriors and a committed missionary team we are able to work together to build God’s Kingdom!

New work in Peru

We are thankful to God for so many things. This year, Peruvian missionaries Nefatali and Deysi returned to their hometown of Trujillo, Peru, to guide and lead the team in its work. They continue to press on and win souls for Jesus. They work in Alto Trujillo 3B, Buenos Aires and El Milagro. Their 2016 goals are to continue building the church through “adopt a block” evangelism (getting to know your neighbors), discipleship, and by training five individuals to become missionaries. Pray for Nefatali, Deysi and their team, that they will always look to God in everything they do.

Baptisms

We celebrated 21 baptisms in Ecuador and nine baptisms in Peru this year! Our goal is to make disciples who make disciples and train the nationals to lead and grow His church. So please pray for God to raise up co-laborers who want to put their faith into practice, and that they will be committed to announcing His Kingdom.

CHE training

Twelve Ecuadorians are taking the CHE (Community Health Evangelism) micro-business training in preparation for launching successful businesses of selling pigs next year. This will help increase the families’ incomes and give them the dignity that comes through work.

Tutoring

The lack of education is a major problem that has been identified in the barrios where we work. This year we started three reading classes for children. We recently received 100 children’s books in Spanish and the children are enjoying them. A goal for 2016 is to start a tutoring program for students. This is a huge need in the barrio since most kids drop out of school at a young age, many for lack of reading skills.

Plans for 2016

Several short-term mission trips are planned for 2016, which will help the team reach people in the new barrios where we are starting to work: Santa Martha, Sector 5 and Patrilla Nuevo. In 2016 we will continue working and building up our ministries to children, women, pre-teens, youth, the elderly, couples, men, and house churches. We will also strengthen the church by mentoring and discipling believers. Mike will also focus on training future pastors and missionaries.

We have had challenges throughout the year, but with perseverance we were able to focus on Christ and His plan for us! We are blessed to be serving God with you in Ecuador and Peru. Thank you again for your partnership. We wish you a blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Team Expansion missionaries to Peru and Ecuador

Project New Hope + CMF

CMF and Project New Hope are part of an exciting partnership with Team Expansion missionaries Mike and Dani Bukta and their work in Peru and Ecuador. Through this partnership we will work together toward holistic mission where disciples are made, individual lives are transformed, and nationals are empowered to lead. U.S. churches will be challenged to actively partner in this ministry with the goal of creating dynamic Christ-centered communities (churches) that can transform the world.
