September 2014

New Life Cambodian Christian Church

Rinn Sim- Lowell, MA

  • For one Sunday in September we are joining together for worship with the other cross-cultural ministries in Lowell. We are celebrating the beginning of the new school year. Our children will be joining together for Sunday school that day, as well.
  • New Life will celebrate and kick off the fall with a ministries cookout on Sunday, September 7th, 2014. Pray for excitement in ministry and recruitment of new volunteers.
  • Pray for our people so that we can work together more effectively in reaching people for Christ and in adding them to our fellowship.
  • Please continue to pray for Rinn’s son-in-law, Mac Tha, who really needs a kidney transplant. He struggles with strength to go to work while receiving treatment three times a week. These treatments exhaust him.

New Hampshire Korean Christian Church

Eunho Moon & Kei Eun Chang- Bedford, NH

  • Our church is in “low tide” spirit, as many families recently have left for other big cities or returned to Korea. This phenomenon started a few years ago and continues as economic and immigrant situations are getting tough. Pray for the church’s spirit and that the remaining members will keep being involved in the campaign of “praying for one.”
  • Pray for the children/students as they step into a new academic year.
  • Pray for Hee Sang Yu and his family.  He lost his job over 8 months ago and continues searching for one that will provide for his family.
  • Pray for the sick, particularly elder In B. Lee who has problems in his knees from years of hard work.  His knees are swollen, which makes walking painful.
  • Pray for our small group meetings starting in September after a summer break.
  • Pray for Kei Eun Chang who has been chosen to deliver an “open lecture” to the public on September 8. This lecture marks the launching of a college level school (called Boston Nehemiah Institute) to train non-staff church people and others. The classes will be taught by the area ministers, including Dr Chang.

Oasis Christian Church (Liberian)
Christic Marblow- Providence, RI

  • Pray for the mission’s fair at the end of October which OCC will host for area churches in South Providence. This fair will pull together many from the area to coordinate outreach efforts in the community. They hope to build a spirit of cooperation which will provide better services to the community, as well as hone the efforts for outreach.
  • Thank God for the new people who have been visiting OCC. Pray that many will be added to the fellowship and join in pursuing the vision for making disciples.
  • Thank God for two new Bible studies in Providence and Pawtucket. Pray that God will use these studies to reach new families and empower the believers.
  • Pray for Christic Marblow as he once again is facing unemployment. Although not having a job gives him more time for ministry, it places a very heavy burden on him and his wife.

Manchester Chinese Christian Church

Brandy Lee- Manchester, NH

  • Give thanks to God for His grace upon all the families in our church during this summer. God granted safe travel and good experiences.
  • Give thanks to God for leading and protecting our resident minister, Andrew Fross, while he went on a short term missions trip to China.
  • Pray for Andrew Fross’s ministry to the second generation of our church.
  • Pray for the whole congregation to prepare for witnessing to the community as the fall holidays are approaching.
  • Pray for our congregation to continually take hold of God’s Word and to reveal the light of Christ to the world so that all may come to know Him.

Hong Kong Christian Mission

Wing Wong- China

  • Praise God for our safe and rewarding trip in China!
  • Our team (Andrew Fross, Lemuel Wong, Wing Wong, Mandy Lee and her two children) visited churches and Christian leaders in Beijing, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan and Hong Kong. We taught and led activities in a youth camp, preached to four church groups, evangelized in two Puyi villages, and met with church leaders in all five locations.
  • Praise the Lord for the four baptisms in the youth camp!
  • Praise the Lord for protecting us and the churches in Sichuan from China’s authorities by rescheduling us to Guizhou! The police summoned our evangelist in Sichuan for questioning during the time we would have been there had we not changed our plans. They focused on finding out if he has any connection with the USA. If we were there, the police would have no trouble proving their case. (UPDATE) Please continue to pray for our ministry in Sichuan. One of our churches in Beichuan (the one on the mountain) was ordered to stop worship services by the local authorities! Our evangelist will meet with the authority again in the next few days. This may affect our other churches and ministries in Sichuan.
  • Please continue to pray for our churches in China because the government is tightening their control on churches. Some cities already ordered churches to take down their crosses or replace them with smaller ones.
  • Pray for the growth of the new Christians! Pray that the Gospel seed will continue to grow in the hearts of those who had heard the Gospel this summer and more young people will turn their lives over to Christ!
  • Pray that the church in Guizhou will know how to follow up with the two villages that we had visited!
  • Pray for our ministries in Sichuan!
  • Pray for the preparations for our IBCC retreat in October! Pray that Curt Nordhielm will get his visa in time to come teach a mini seminar at the retreat!
