Are You Praying for ICOM 2014?
We need and request everyone to be praying for ICOM as we build up to our time in Columbus in November. We don’t have to wait until November to go “vertical”. We need it now!
Prayer is God’s tool for conversation in life for us today, to put it simply. But its more than that. There are 3 “horizontal” descriptors that describe us today: we are “people of the Book”, observe the Lord’s Supper every week, and baptism by immersion is part of the process of salvation. There are many prayer warriors and people who pray among us. Lets move in such a way that we earn and deserve the descriptor that we are a “people of prayer”. Prayer will be a more central part of ICOM this fall. Here are some of the ways that we have in our plans:
- We will have our usual prayer room
- We will have a huge interactive prayer exhibit in the central part of the exhibit hall for everyone to visit
- We will have our block of prayer workshops again this year
- Some folks are already planning to have a prayer walk in Columbus, during the conference.
- There will be a “global prayer cast” on Saturday morning this year. It will be a workshop format.
- There will be at least 75 student/missionary prayer encounters this year on Friday night and Saturday.
- For the 4th straight year, there will be some folks who will have been praying 24/7 for 7 days throughout 2014. We hope to sign up many more churches to “take a week” in 2014, all the way through to 2020!
- Our prayer chairman, Dean Trune, has gathered a group of people who have agreed to fast and pray for ICOM this fall. You can join those already praying and fasting by going to this link.
Let us become a people of prayer. A people who always seek wisdom, guidance and fellowship from our heavenly Father, who waits to hear from us to pray. Join us in prayer and fasting today. |
