Pray for Peace in South Sudan 12-2013

This is an update of a –  PRAYER REQUEST sent yesterday  __rival factions  ( NUER _ DINKA ) clash in “attempted coup.”  – NEXT update will be next Tuesday – We are hopefull it will be a report of peace….               

17 DEC Confirmed :

• > 40 killed > 130 wounded

• 13,000 have taken refugee at UN Headquarters in Juba

• Gunfire contiunes Tuesday a.m. in Tomping ( Where a “safe house” that Tom had been kept in 2011 and where the US Embassy is located).  

• No travel warnings have been issued from the US State Dept. 

• SPLA ( Sudanese Peoples Liberation Army ) Troops have been dispersed to protect populated areas ( South Sudan refers to their Army as the SPLA).

* All is quiet in Aweil. 

• Kenya Air and 540 ( air carrier) have cancelled flights to Juba) 

• Roadways in the Capital city of Juba are empty. * 

• Oil production continues
