October 19 – 25

Young Adult Missionary Kids

The children of cross-cultural workers, often referred to as MKs, face special challenges that result from the privilege of growing up in their family’s place of ministry. Your prayers for their spiritual, emotional, and social well-being make a difference.

Sunday
MKs who have lived overseas most of their lives may struggle to feel that they belong in their parents’ home country. Pray that they will not be overwhelmed when these feelings arise. Pray God’s perfect peace for them.

Monday
Several Pioneer Bible Translators MKs are attending college this year. Pray that they will do well in their classes. Pray for healthy relationships with their roommates and others who live nearby.

Tuesday
Homesickness for family and friends on the field may be intense, especially on birthdays and special holidays. Pray that God will use their extended families as well as new friends to help fill this void.

Wednesday
Pray for opportunities for regular contact with family and close friends.

Thursday
Growing up in places with limited job opportunities for non-citizens leaves many MKs without marketable skills and experience. Pray for jobs for those seeking them and for rapid development of the skills and relation- ships that will make them valued employees.

Friday
Becoming part of a nurturing Christian community is vital. Pray that God will guide these MKs to churches where their needs will be recognized and ministered to.

Saturday
The challenges of transition can both strengthen and shake these MKs in their relationship with Christ. Pray that their faith will be solid, active, and growing.
