Extreme spiritual poverty, combined with political and economic uncertainties and the rigors of daily living, makes this a challenging place to serve. Pray that God will sustain our personnel through every difficulty.
Monday
Several people groups here now have access to major portions of God’s Word in their own language. Pray for transformed lives as people read and hear these Scriptures.
Tuesday
Distributing translated Scriptures is hampered by religious opposition, absence of networks of local churches, and the logistical challenges of traveling to remote areas. Pray for wisdom to know how to overcome each obstacle.
Wednesday
Recorded Scriptures, storytelling, and listening/discussion groups are appropriate ways to teach God’s Word in oral cultures where reading is not a way of life. Pray for responsive hearts as people hear His truth.
Thursday
West Africans who choose to follow Christ often face severe persecution. Pray for courage to choose Christ and to withstand the resulting social and economic hardships.
Friday
Our personnel in West Africa form our largest and most diverse team. Pray that they will always be known for the love and mutual respect they show each other.
Saturday
Our team has a critical shortage of key people: literacy evangelists, a mechanic, and teachers. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send the right people to fill these and other needs. |
