Their children may desire to return to the place that was home for so many years. Pray that God will provide opportunities and funds for on-field reunions for these families.
Tuesday
Some empty nesters began their cross-cultural ministries after their children became adults. Pray that their adult children will catch and share their parents’ vision.
Wednesday
Field visits can deepen children’s understanding of their parents’ call to cross-cultural ministry. Pray that God will open doors for these kinds of visits to occur.
Thursday
Many empty nesters have grandchildren with whom they long to spend more time. Pray that they will find creative ways to bridge the long gaps between personal visits.
Friday
Missing special events such as birthdays, reunions, baptisms, anniversaries, and graduations is difficult. Pray that God will give extra measures of His peace to cross-cultural empty nesters when they must miss these and other special celebrations.
Saturday
Being absent during times of sickness, disappointment, or loss is also hard. Pray that God will carry family members on both sides of the ocean through these difficult times despite their physical separation. |
