Haiti Update
As you’ve no doubt seen in the news, Haiti has had a great deal of civil unrest and violent protests, primarily in Port-au-Prince, over the past week or so. RoRo, Eline, the Corns, and the interns have been safe on our campus in Peredo throughout these difficult days for Haiti. They were busy preparing for a team from Mid-Way CC (VA) when American Airlines cancelled all of our team flights on Saturday, 7/7. RoRo has been in constant communication with his many contacts in Port-au-Prince and other areas to monitor all that is happening and to keep everyone in Peredo safe. He is very well connected to actual events versus what you might be seeing on social media and the news. Currently, things are calming down in Jacmel and in PAP. At this point, we expect to host the Mid-Way team this Saturday, 7/14, and continue on with the remaining summer teams as planned.
Please continue to pray for Haiti – May a spirit of peace fall on places of violence, a spirit of righteousness fall on those in leadership, and a spirit of unity fall on all of those who are working to bring help and hope to all Haitians.
