MY PRAYER FOR
THE RESTORATION MOVEMENT CHURCHES
I became a Christian as a young man in a Christian church. I went to a Christian Church College. I have served all my life in Christian church congregations and missions.
In the later stage of my life I’m rather amazed at how other Christian group are jumping on board with our Relational Evangelism. Some of our congregations have also but I’ve found many not very open to even want to talk about it all. While most of our colleges and churches are not training their people in an effective model of personal evangelism I find it amazing that they won’t at least give this a try. My prayer is that this will change some day.
It is very interesting that I haven’t changed my theology at all but it is so exciting to see thousands of leaders from Pentecostal, Full Gospel Mission, Assembly of God and even Baptist churches getting excited about RE/IAAR and starting to use it around the world.
And most of the churches in the Independent Churches either don’t know about it or are not interested for any number of reasons.
I know RE/IAARt is not the only way but many are discovering that it is as Jackson Ndecheck of YWAM said, "Profoundly Unique." My prayer is that people in our brotherhood not miss out on this.
My prayer is that we not be so caught up in ‘church growth’, church planting, multi-site projects and mega church models that we miss out on preparing our people in how to GO and make disciples from among those who they know and meet in their life journey who aren’t disciples. Currently very few do. And that is unfortunate.
Many preachers use Malachi when the question is asked "Will a man rob God? when preaching about giving.
I have another question (Hendee); Will a leader rob his people of being trained in effective personal evangelism?
Have you actually noticed who has endorsed RE/IAAR?
Josh McDowell
Luis Palau
Loren Cunningham
Dr. Robert Coleman
and many more
I encourage you to read my short book (it is free at www.itsallaboutrelationship.org ).
Now I must share my excitement with being invited to do a 16 hour training at ICOM, 2019. Thanks to Jon Vance for sharing with them the impact RE/IAAR is having on his life and ministry. He is from Hazel Dell Christian church and has trained over 120 members in the last year and a half in the congregation he is serving. He says it is like ‘revival’. More than that, as you have read he is going to train leaders at Manila Christian Seminary in the Philippines this July.
Folks, this is really NOT about me. I don’t know how many years I have left here, but IT IS about doing what we area commanded to do; equipping the Saints for the work of the ministry and if equipping them to carry out the Great Commission is not doing that I don’t know what is. If you have another way to do it, praise God. Keep it up and never quit until you can’t find anyone to train. If you don’t you know how to get in touch with me. |
