mPower Approach Oct 2014 eNews – A Little Pebble in the Lake of Life

A little pebble in the lake of life. That’s how Vesta Ryan describes herself.

Vesta will be traveling to Uganda next week with an mPower Approach team. She and several other ladies will teach sewing to a group of Ugandan believers. “I will be teaching them a skill so they will be able to get a job and help support their families.” She hopes the women will then teach others these same skills. “Like throwing a pebble into a lake and watching the ripple effect.”

That’s what makes us different. We don’t go and do. We go and train. Each person who goes on an mPower Approach trip teaches a skill, whatever skill God has blessed them with. For some it’s dentistry, others basic medical. Perhaps yours is hair cutting, Bible study, or motorcycle repair. For Vesta Ryan it’s sewing. She is being obedient to the Great Commission. Going in the name of the Savior she loves. Just a pebble in the lake of life. An 81-year old pebble. To God be the glory!

Please pray for the “ripple effect” of this trip to be great. The team will be teaching dental extractions, vision assessment, sewing, and children’s Bible activities.
