“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:58

While my wife and I were traveling in Burma in 2013, a mother walked up to our group and asked if there was a doctor among us who could look at her son, Kyaw, who was 12 at the time. She indicated that he had fallen off a table as an infant and never received treatment for the injuries his legs sustained. He is unable to walk, he crawls. Although there were 3 doctors in our group, none were equipped to help.

Fast forward two years to a Chris Tomlin concert. We heard about the Tim Tebow Foundation and the CURE Hospital in the Philippines which specializes in pediatric orthopedic care. We both thought of Kyaw. The next day, my wife contacted our friend who lives in Burma to see if she could return to the village where we met Kyaw and take pictures of him. Within a day, we had pictures and permission to seek help for him.

Immediately my wife sent out a mass email to every medical mission agency she could find working in Southeast Asia. Three different organizations, including mPower Approach began helping Kyaw. mPower Approach made contact with a pastor and teacher at a Bible College in Burma. We were able to wire him money to purchase a wheelchair for Kyaw. This pastor is now ministering to Kyaw and his family!

We are still working with the two other organizations to find out if Kyaw is a candidate for surgery, if so, he will have to come to the States. It will be a long and arduous process. In the meantime, the wheelchair will make their lives much easier. Please keep Kyaw and his family in your prayers. Thank you mPower Approach for all your help!!!
