Dear friends,
Have patience, have patience, don’t be in such a hurry,
When you get impatient, you only start to worry.
Remember, remember, that God is patient, too,
And think of all the times when others have to wait for you!
*If you’d like to hear it to music, just call me and I’ll sing it for you! 🙂
I learned that song about 20 years ago and have sung it to my children, husband, and other random people during those two decades. Now I really need someone to sing it to me.
We have been waiting for our immigration bond to get approved for SIX WEEKS. We thought it would take maybe two. Don’t they know we need that paper?? What is taking so long? Come on people! Once we get that approval we still have another set of paperwork that should take 2 weeks to 4 months to approve.
So as soon as we get the immigration bond approved, I will be happy for about 2 weeks, and then I will start to feel increasingly impatient again. This is not what God wants.
He has been showing me that my words are not what He desires. I laugh and say, “You would think I would have learned patience by now, but not yet!” God says patience is a fruit of the Spirit. Ouch.
So, it’s time for me to get some patience. God can make our paperwork move faster if He wants. He can take care of our team in Vanuatu until we get there. He can work out all the details that we stress about. We are doing everything we can on our end to move to Vanuatu asap but some things are just out of our control. Nothing is out of God’s control. We will continue to study, prepare, pack, and pray, but worry and stress are not on my to-do list anymore. We will trust that God knows the desire of our hearts (to get on that plane!) and that He will do what is best for us.
Is God nudging you to be more patient about something in your life? Feel free to let me know and we can encourage each other.
Angie (for Matt and the kids, too)
