Greetings,
“And I… am about to come and gather the people of all nations and languages, and they will come and see my glory. I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations—to Tarshish, to the Libyans and Lydians, to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations. And they will bring all your people, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem.” Isaiah (66:18-20a)
Amazing, isn’t it? Over 2700 years ago, God looked down through history and knew that his glory would be declared to the people living on the “distant islands” of the world — including Vanuatu! Maybe God was thinking of us, our teammates, Pioneer Bible Translators and the VISTA pastors and leaders when he told Isaiah that prophecy.
As our family prepares to go, we are encouraged that God is leading our steps and that it has always been His plan to reach out to these “distant islands” that we will soon call home.
