Thinking of Somewhere Warmer

Has it been cold where you are? It has for us here in Central KY.
February has been a very cold month with lots of snow, ice and really low temperatures. I am definitely ready for spring this year.
While I was daydreaming of warmer weather and sunny skies this week, an email with photos enclosed showed up in my “inbox” from my Haitian friend Dr Jean Marcel Sule.
When I first saw the picture above with the blue sky and ocean, I thought, “Man, I would rather be there than here!”
These photos are from Les Cayes, Haiti. Les Cayes is a seaport in southwestern Haiti and also one of the largest cities in the country.
Dr Sule is starting a new church and school there and work is now officially underway!
I first met Dr Sule in 2006. He is minister at the Carrefour-feuilles Church of Christ.
The massive earthquake that rocked Haiti in January, 2010, destroyed most of the church/school building in Carrefour-feuilles. Since that time, we’ve been sending mission teams to help rebuild the facilities there.
As the facilities are nearing completion in Carrefour-feuilles, a new project has begun in Sule’s hometown of Les Cayes.
Plans are for a church and school similar to what is taking place in Carrefour-feuilles and we plan on helping him with this project.

You can go as part of a team or you can schedule a trip for your church group (you’ll need 10-12 for a team).
