While communication between a missionary, or ministry, and their supporters should be better than any time in history, it may be more difficult than ever. Between snail mail, email, telephone, web sites, Skype, video conferencing, social media and more, one would think that communication would be flawless! But we all know that is not the case.
Internet Broadcasting is an ideal communication tool for missionaries and ministries around the world as well as ministry supporters and others seeking to learn about the world of missions.
Virtually every missionary has a laptop computer with the capability of recording voices…most with built in microphones. An improved microphone is available from almost any electronics store at little cost. On a monthly basis (at least quarterly, and more often if needed), we encourage missionaries to record a 2 to 5 minute update about the happenings of the ministry. These audio or video files can be hosted on this network at no cost to the missionary. From here, they are easily populated to our podcast which is available via iTunes, PodBean, GodCast, the PodCast Network or a “podcatcher” on your own computer, smartphone or tablet. This happens at the leisure of the supporter…when they choose…when they have the best opportunity to capture the message.
Having this network is efficient from a “kingdom perspective.” No only are we providing the hosting at no cost to the ministry, these podcasts are then available for others to hear as well. Congregations, missions interested individuals, missions students in college and others will have (at their disposal) communication from missionaries around the world. This all occurs at one place…themissionsnetwork. No one has to scour for links, all anyone needs to do is come to this network site.
We are excited to have the opportunity to offer this service to God’s kingdom.
