29 December 2014 – A barge carrying a shipment of food destined for thousands of people in South Sudan has crossed over from neighboring Sudan, reopening a long-closed river corridor along the Nile .This is the first time in several years that the Nile River can be used to deliver food across the border between Sudan and South Sudan. River transport of humanitarian supplies across the Sudanese-South Sudanese border ground to a halt in 2011 after the border’s closure following South Sudan’s independence. We feel the transports resumption was made possible by your prayer. Praise God for His strong arm to aid His people despite hostile governments. This is an answer to our prayers.
There is an estimated 2.5 million people that could be in need of food assistance in the first three months of 2015, especially if hostilities in the country continue through the dry season.
Continue fervent prayer for our new country under this incredible strain .
Pray for :
-the suffering
-those who grieve
-the church
-the peacemakers
O Lord God of infinite mercy, we humbly ask you to look down on the nations that are engaged in war. Grant them true repentance, that the lusts of the human heart may be conquered by Your Spirit of gentleness and righteousness. Look in mercy on those immediately exposed to peril. Comfort the prisoners, relieve the sufferings of the wounded, and show mercy to the dying. According to Your good and gracious will, remove the causes and occasions of this war, and restore peace among the nations; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
