It is stated that the America has an average of 3 Bibles per household. ( for some of you that is probably a surprisingly low number).
We have found that forgotten Bibles can be redeemed to serve in telling the story of redemption. This past week we have distributed new and used Bibles. Because of your partnership, one of our church plants received 20 new bibles so they can all read from the same translation. Individuals that we are discipling have received various “redeemed” Bibles.
Why is this a good thing? At least 26 African countries list English as one of their official languages. Developing countries seek to compete in the global marketplace and English is the language in which most negotiation and marketing must take place. It also reduces tribalism.
There are over 60 indigenous languages in South Sudan. Working with the displaced community of over 16 tribes we have witnessed
natives leaving their language and adopting English to communicate with their neighbors.
In 2011 we began Gudele Church School that teaches English to 600 at risk children. Today, at a time of war, time is not our friend and we are working feverishly to share the Prince of Peace with as many as we can.
Thank you for being on this Journey with us!
Grace and Peace,
Tom & Sandie
South Sudan: This past Monday another peace agreement has been signed to end the war. If the government respects the deal, then there will definitely be a decrease in the level of violence.
