This Week
South Sudan is located in northeastern Africa. Its rich biodiversity includes lush savannas, swamplands, and rainforests that are home to many species of wildlife. Prior to 2011, South Sudan was part of Sudan, its neighbor to the north. MERCY PARTNERS has provided care since 2010 from before separation, through the current conflict where there is civil war.  This week Citizens of South Sudan’s capital Juba have panicked as unconfirmed word has traveled that a former general has held meetings with nearby North Sudan for the purpose of war in Juba and the village of Wau. Further adding to the humanitarian crisis, South Sudan officials have voiced opposition to the United Nations decision to continue its work to protect civilians through the deployment of its peacekeeping troops across South Sudan. – Currently there is famine in the nation and mobility is very difficult. Over the past month we have been able to come alongside of the Church family in Gudele to assist in placing a metal roof on a preschool building that had been destroyed during a windstorm.
Pray that the South Sudanese will continued to be encouraged by the Mercy of God through the church.

Pray for our operations to increase and that we can grow Christ church during mild persecution.

Pray for our global partners as we reach out to place a well in a hostile region.
