Java Evangelism
News for Prayer and Praise from
Dennis and Lynn Free in Indonesia

We will leave home in Ambon on Sunday, January 12th, heading to the US for a quick trip.

Our goals include:

  1.        Check up with Lynn’s oncologist in Savannah.
  2.        Keep the good folks at ICE happy so they will not cancel Dennis’              green card for being out of the country too long.
  3.       Checking in with family and friends, especially Lynn’s mother who has       been hospitalized for over two weeks  following chemotherapy for           her third episode with cancer.  She is 90.
  4.      Java Evangelism Directors’ meeting to discuss future plans for Java,        especially in light of the loss of support  from major donor.

We hope to see many of you.  Our likely schedule will have us in Savannah January 16-19;  in Homer, January 19-23;  In Carrollton January 24-26 (including preaching at Millers Academy Christian); traveling to Delaware starting January26th.  In NC the first weekend of February.   The last week before our travel  back to Indonesia on February 14th is rather uncertain.

Hopefully we will run into many of you.

You can reach us via email; or our USA phones.  Dennis:  706 402 2680;  Lynn: 404 747 2179.

Shortly after we return from the US two young ladies from our bible college in Java will be arriving for an evangelistic/church planting practicum of at least six month.    Karen, the longer-staying member of the Savannah team, will be here during our time away working with the pre-school and helping build relationships for  sharing the Good News.

We’d love to talk with people who love the Lord and people about short term opportunities to bless the people of Ambon through the pre-school, praying walking, sharing in English conversations, etc.  Consider the invitation below very personal to you!

Until All Hear Clearly,

Ya’ll come! We are asking God to send English speakers who love Jesus and care for  people (especially lost people) to help us make contacts throughout the city of Ambon.   You could help with the pre-school programs,  English classes, communication sessions   at the American Corner at a local University, prayer walking, and through friendship.   Air fare is about $1800 (return).  Visa would be $25-50.   Living costs less than $30/day.    Come for a week, or better for a month, or three  … or a few years.  Great experience for College Students and a meaningful retirement activity for Seniors.   Contact us if you are interested.  We can give you plenty of meaningful things to do while you learn about and contribute to pioneer evangelism and church planting.   You can have an impact for the Gospel in the islands that Columbus never reached!
