“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’“ Matt 25:31-40
Greetings,
As the LIA team, we are so blessed that we get to participate in what God is doing on the ground through serving the least of these. We are fortunate to partner with other Kingdom-minded workers and churches from around the world to transform together through service. How joyful we are to “join with the righteous,” both now and when the Son on Man comes in glory.
Each year we hold a benefit reception that enables us to corporately celebrate all that God is doing, and allows those unable to work directly in the field to participate through their financial gifts. This is such an important event for the ministry. People tell us that they look forward to this evening every year. Today I ask that you join me in praying over the upcoming Benefit Reception on October 30th.
Ask that the Lord would sanctify the venue and the evening for His divine purposes. Pray that we would experience God’s manifest presence, and that the staff of our hosts, the Frazer History Museum, would share in this experience.
Pray against any distractions that might hinder those who are meant to attend and witness what God is doing through LIA. Often times with events like this, we allow more trivial matters or busyness to draw us away from what God has called us to bear witness to. Ask that the Lord would strongly direct those who are to be in attendance that night, protect them as they travel to and from the event, and reward them greatly for their obedience.
Please join me in giving thanks to the Lord for the champions and volunteers that have made this event possible. They continue to work long hours and make multiple phone calls and arrangements in order to make this reception possible. We are so grateful for their heart to serve the ministry and we ask God would sustain and refresh them as they continue their service.
Finally, I ask that you pray over those that will be speaking, that Christ will use them as His mouthpiece to stir the hearts of those He has called to participate in the Kingdom work. Pray that nothing would hinder them in their travel or preparation leading up to the benefit.
Thank you so much for joining me in praying over this event that is so dear to me and to the ministry.
In Christ,
Florence
