Dear Mission,
As we begin 2018, it’s typical for us to be attracted to the “newness” of the new year. I want to set our eyes and hearts instead on the truth that the new is not a dramatic arrival or even a blank slate; thankfully, it is a sanctifying continuation of what the Lord is already doing. The Lord has continued to build upon what he did last year which was the first year of our 5-Year Strategic Plan. For 2018, He has mercifully given us a twofold word by which to serve:
Establish LIA & No Strife
To Establish LIA would mean we become recognized, well-known, and reputable for His glory. God has faithfully brought us through a time of formation, empowering, training, expansion, and evaluating our impact. The season we are entering will build upon that foundation and bring us to the established stage as we serve within the 5-year strategic plan. The Lord has also brought us into a special season of No Strife. While strife refers to trouble, conflict, and discord, our season will be filled with peace, ease, and protection. In His grace, God has gifted us a season that will safeguard the establishing time. Conflict will come, but the Lord will fight for us in this time of favor and ease in His presence.
I want to encourage you to reflect and meditate upon the passages above with us as we seek the Lord’s guidance through this season. Embrace this word for 2018 with us in prayer. Thank you for your partnership as we go together for his glory. I look forward with great anticipation to 2018 and beyond. It’s a privilege to live out his word, once again, together.
