Being a missionary with Lifeline Christian Mission is truly unbelievable. I have always loved doing missionary work since day one, but at Lifeline it is different. As soon as you step through the office door, you’re greeted with smiles and warmhearted people. To see such a growing foundation based on others’ needs is so electrifying.
A few years ago I took a mission trip to Haiti with my church. Being in Haiti, surrounded by men, women and children that are flamboyant about everything, changed my mind set. Here I am mad over not being able to have the latest designer jeans when, there, they are suffering but it never showed in their actions.
Recently, I experienced volunteering in Lifeline’s facility in Westerville, Ohio. It gave me the chance to serve closer to home. At Lifeline’s office, we were escorted to a conference room where we watched a video explaining how to process sponsor gifts for shipment to the mission field. Everyone was very helpful as we got started. We were making things easier for the children as they received their gifts.
I only got a glimpse of all the awesome things that Lifeline does for Haiti and Honduras, but what I saw was a masterpiece that God helped put together. Lifeline is important to me because it got me thinking of being a missionary some day; dedicating my whole life to others.
