Last weekend marked the celebration of Doug Hansen’s life. He was laid to rest after a Saturday service highlighting all he’s contributed to the ministry of LIA in his 20 years of service with us. Take a moment to join us in praying for his family:

Join in celebrating Doug and his family for their generosity and contribution to the mission of LIA.
His family is encouraged and strong in the Lord. Uphold them for continued comfort and peace.

Dear Mission,
God is faithful to pave a new path for the glory of His name. His ways are not our ways and we are called to go forth trusting that he will make a way in the wilderness of the communities we serve. We don’t dwell on the past because we know God is making all things new! Join us as we praise God for all the work he is doing and pray with us for the nation of Jamaica:

Give Thanks for the Nation:

We give thanks for a good season, adequate rains, and sunshine, which is conducive for growing crops.
We thank God for the newly appointed Commissioner of Police and the efforts of the security forces to fight against crime. There have been positive results so far.
Praise God for the united efforts of the various church groups in prayer and fasting over the last year across the island. Pray for change and transformation within the nation.

Requests for the Nation:

Pray for the government of Jamaica and the Opposition leaders that God would do a transforming work in their hearts and among them.
Please pray against corruption in every sector of society.
Please pray against the deviation in religious practices from worshipping the one true God. There has been a steady increase of other religions in the country.

Give Thanks for LIA-Jamaica:

We thank God for partner churches who are engaged in seed projects within their communities.
We thank God for the Microenterprise Training going on and the TOT training that just started in a new community.
We thank God for the Youth Running Club that is up and running.

Requests for LIA-Jamaica:

Pray that we will continue to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. Pray that funding will be raised for the development plans for our training center in Bethel.
Please pray for staff as we embrace and embody the word of establishment for this season. Pray for protection in travels as we engage churches in difficult communities.
Pray that the leaders of our partner churches would release trained members to do the work of the ministry wholistically. Pray for participants involved in Youth Running Club, Micro-Enterprise Training, and TOT for great impact that leads to transformation.
