Welly is already in Java, competing details for her graduation from the bible college. Narto and Reni will head to Java shortly after end of school year celebrations at FAST START pre-school and kindergarten . Narto will receive his degree as well. All 3 will return just before or just after the big Muslim feast day of June 25th.
We (Dennis and Lynn) look forward to hosting Phil and Maggie Edwards on May 15-19, and heading for the US on May 21st. They will visit family, attend a family wedding, meet the the Java Directors; and take care of medical checks. Two churches are on their schedule as well. Please see the header.
We have dreams of coming into a Billion … not dollars, but Indonesian Rupiahs this year. $77,000 = IDR 1,000,000,000. This will fund the next phase of the planned Sizemore Center. If we can raise this amount by the end of the year, Construction of the foundation and at least roughing in the ground and second floors of the building could begin early in 2018. These areas will house the most urgently needed areas of the new center.
K-4 and K-5 are already FULL for 2017-18 school year, with some eager parents having their children on a wait list. Pre-K parents do not register their 3-year-olds as quickly, but one class is full and the other will likely fill up before the school year starts on July 17th.
As we age and as administrative demands on Bethany increase, we really need to have a couple of ESL teachers join us. Having native speakers is a definite plus in our efforts to serve a diverse community. Please pray that the agency with whom we have on-going discussions will be able to recruit workers for Ambon and Maluku.
Thank you for praying about the tax issue relating to funds for the purchase of land for the Sizemore Center. There has been no levy to date. It looks likely that any levy will be much less than we had feared and will not be charged until 2018, if at all.
Keep praying for breakthroughs into lives of people who need the please of Jesus in their hearts.
