March 11, we enter our 40th year in Indonesia. We thank God and you, our faithful prayer warriors and financial partners, for making it possible for us to have lived and served here for 39 years! We do not know what the future holds, but we are grateful to have been in Indonesia in many changing roles for these years. We have been blessed by so many good people and we only trust that we have been able to encourage a few to look toward the exalted Lord! We have no retirement plans at the moment. We enjoy what we are doing too much to think like that.
This past weekend Dennis traveled to a totally Muslim village two hours across a strait on a much larger island. The opening was made possible through the quality products we are offering for sale. Prayerfully a bridge head has been established there. We are asking God to open up the doors if this is his timing for us to invest more deeply in that village.
We have our first request for a bible in the Muslim North of the island where we live. Please pray for our friend Michael as he continues to interact with the man who requested it. He is a respected Muslim teacher in his village.
Continue to ask God to help Michael, Reni, Lei, Okta and us to grow in wisdom and boldness as interact with our “cousin” neighbors. The new girls from the Bible College could use a real dose of boldness and clear focus about now! Karen, a friend from Savannah, continues to build bridges into the university community. Pray for her wisdom as she uses her remaining time to loving exalt the Lord among her friends and contacts.
We rejoice over news from Abel that the young believers he is discipling in Pleasant Port are growing and sharing the Good News. Ask God to make them all true, fruitful disciple-makers. Requests from Rabbit Count y for prayer for folk to whom they are sharing are coming more frequently. Ask the Lord to give a harvest there. Efforts to prepare the soil there began following an earthquake in 2009.
