Dear Friends and Supporters
MEXICO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY
The University is doing very well after its restart four years ago. Connie and I had the privilege of participating in their first graduation ceremony under the reorganization. Eight extension (TEE) students from two local congregations received diplomas and six students received B.A degrees . Our host, Jaime Castro and his wife Ruth, scheduled our time wisely so that we were able to know the staff and some of the graduates, visit with two of the extension classes in Queretaro and see some of the historical sites.
Bob and Connie with one of the TEE classes in Queretaro
The staff are very capable and dedicated. The graduates are very motivated and know where God is calling them to serve. The extension (TEE) students are putting into practice the things they discuss in their weekly meetings.Their testimonies about the way the TEE courses have encouraged them and changed their lives was a blessing to Connie and me.
Bob and Connie with Shelly the translator of TEE courses and her sister Vivian
We met two important people involved with the TEE program. The first person was Shelly. She is a retired dentist who voluntarily translated the TEE courses into Spanish. She said the work was both rewarding and encouraging as she learned so many good things in the process of translating the courses.
Bob and Connie with Juan Garcia and his wife
The second person was Juan Garcia. Juan is in charge of promoting and coordinating the extension (TEE) program. Over 1,500 students have registered for extension classes and there are at least 800 active extension students at any given time. There are even a few extension classes in the USA. The extension program continues to grow along with the student body of the campus.
The opportunity and need for this type of training is great in Mexico The response to the training offered by Mexico Christian University is overwhelming. They are outgrowing their facilities. Plans are being made to re-locate the campus to a larger site and to open up satellite training facilities in northern and southern Mexico.
Queretaro, where the University is located, is remarkable. It is very pleasant city. The people are friendly and helpful. It is one of only three cities in Mexico that is considered to be safe. It is listed by the United Nations as one of the cleanest cities in the world. And, it is a world historical site recognized by the United Nations.
Queretaro was the capital of Mexico at one time. The political revolution that brought independence from Spain started here. The original city with its buildings and architecture have been preserved and restored. It’s history goes beyond the time of Spain. We could see from the window of our apartment an ancient pyramid that has yet to be explored by archeologist. Only God knows the interesting things that are inside it.
NIGERIA
Prayer Summit:
All churches met at Ntan, Ekori for an all night prayer summit on June 23-24 from 8 PM until 4 AM. The theme was “Now is the set time of God’s favor.” Testimonies given at the summit witnessed to how God has been answering prayers. Here are a few of them. A chemical pathologist was accidentally exposed to a sample from a Lassa fever victim. This was a deadly fever that once wrought havoc in Nigeria. He was isolated for 21 days and did not contract the fever. A policeman survived being posted in an area where many of his comrades were killed by Islamic terrorists. A young lawyer was quickly promoted up through the ranks in the Police Legal department.
IVORY COAST
Juliet Morris requests prayer on behalf of her husband Roujee who is the Supervisor for TEE in Ivory Coast. He has been have some memory loss and skill loss. A CAT scan revealed that his brain is shrinking. Pray that God will guide them on where to go and what to do. The TEE classes are continuing with the help of two teachers.

1. Thank God for the work of Mexico Christian University.
2. Thank God for project funds for 2017.

7. Pray for funds for 2017 projects. The nursery school in Nigeria is ready for plastering and finish work. Funds are needed for this next step in construction. The fund to put a supervisor for TEE in northern Ghana is coming along well. We will give you details of a third project for 2017 next month. There is need and opportunity to help build a church building for a new church plant in a strategic city in northern Ghana.
