Thank God:

·      That His love for us is endless and ever-present.

·      That the Sob people of Papua New Guinea now have Luke’s Gospel – their first New Testament book – in  their own language.

Please Pray:

·      That the Sob people will be drawn to Jesus as they read and hear the book of Luke in their heart language.

·      For Eunice as she has an appointment Tuesday with an ophthalmologist for cataract evaluation. Pray for wisdom for us in whatever decisions we need to make based on the doctor’s recommendations.

·      That Mike will be able to have his next appointment with his new doctor by the end of this week.

·      That God will heal Mike and fully restore his energy.

Special prayer request:

Several years ago Mike stepped in to serve as Director of our team in Papua New Guinea. Last January our team approved a transition plan that would have Mike stepping down early next year, handing the reins of leadership to our teammate Brian. Mike’s illness, and our unexpected stay in the U.S., make it expedient to have this transition occur sooner. Tuesday afternoon PNG time (11:00 p.m. tonight Texas time) the team members currently in Papua New Guinea will gather for a special meeting. Mike will join the meeting via Skype to submit his resignation as Director, after which Brian will be officially chosen as our team’s next director. Please pray for Brian as he takes on this responsibility. Pray also for Brian’s wife Hannah, who will feel the impact when Brian’s load becomes especially heavy. Pray that our entire team will stand fully behind Brian’s leadership. And pray for Mike. While having this responsibility removed from his shoulders offers a tremendous sense of relief, it also is a grief because he enjoyed many aspects of this job and he is keenly aware of how his illness impacted the mentoring and transition schedule that he and Brian had planned for this year.
