· For Mike to make significant progress this week as he works on a portion of Tok Pisin translation helps for mother-tongue translators in Papua New Guinea. These helps, a collaborative effort by PBT and a partner organization, will be a significant resource for national men and women who are translating God’s Word into their own language. (Tok Pisin is the trade language used in the parts of PNG where PBT works.)
· For Eunice as she finishes editing two articles for the next edition of PBT’s Latest Words publication and gives input on a brochure that our team in Papua New Guinea is developing.
· That we will not become weary and discouraged.
· For the right people to help us get our house ready to be sold.
· For faith to trust God in the many details of our lives.
· That God will heal Mike and renew his strength, and that He will use him in mighty ways during this time of healing.
Sobering News
Last week four national Bible translators serving with Wycliffe Associates in the Middle East were killed by extremists. Several others were injured and their office destroyed. What a sobering reminder of the nature of the battle in which Bible translators and other Christian servants are engaged. We ask you to pray for the families of those killed, for healing for those injured, and for repentance of those who planned and carried out this evil deed. As you pray, rejoice that despite the utter destruction of the office, the data for the eight translations on which these teams were working survived!
