Update:

After much prayer and not a few tears, it is clear to us that we cannot expect to live and serve again in Papua New Guinea anytime soon. Our plan since last summer, when we had to postpone our planned return to PNG, was to go back as soon as Mike’s health improved. However, it has become increasingly clear that we must give up this expectation and instead plan to remain in the U.S. indefinitely.

We are already in conversation with leadership at PBT’s International Service Center about ways we can serve during this current stage in our lives. We’ll tell more about that as things get set more firmly.

In light of the uncertainties of our long term plans, we are trying to make arrangements for Eunice to travel to PNG next month to pack up our household and say some good-byes.

At a time like this we are keenly aware that our future is in God’s hands, and that’s the best possible place for it to be. We are also aware of how much it means to have a faithful group of prayer partners standing with us. Thank you!

Thank God:

·      For the peace He is giving us.

·      That we’re feeling more settled in our home.

Please Pray:

·      That God will heal Mike and renew his strength, and that He will use him in mighty ways during this time of healing.

·      That our meeting with a realtor Wednesday morning will go well. We’ve asked him to give his recommendations for making our house attractive to potential buyers. Pray that we will hear clearly all that he says. Pray for wisdom as we consider his advice. (As mentioned last week, it’s time for us to downsize to a smaller, single-story house.)

·      That dates and other details for Eunice’s trip to PNG will be set soon.

·      For our teammates in Papua New Guinea as they participate in their annual meeting this week. They have much to discuss and decide. Pray for wisdom. Pray that they will be united on each decision they make. Pray especially for Brian, who will be chairing the meeting.
