Thank God:
· For His peace and protection.
· For safe travels for our two groups of co-workers for whom we asked you to pray last week. They left town together on Thursday and went their separate ways Friday morning, one to Gandep Bible School and the other to villages near the mouth of the Ramu River.
· For positive reports after the first few village visits by our co-workers who are visiting 10 villages in four language groups to invite them to participate in a new translation initiative that our team here is prayerfully undertaking.
Please Pray:
· For our co-workers Brian and Norm and Mbore-speaking Thomas as they visit the remaining villages on their itinerary. Pray that their complex logistics arrangements will continue to work out as planned. Pray for strength, health, and clear communication with village leaders. Pray especially for Norm, who has chronic pain and fatigue, to be strengthened for each day’s meetings and travels.
· For our co-workers Tyler, Emily, Jim, and Joni as they teach a course on mother-tongue Bible storying to 30 students from several language groups at Gandep Bible School.
· For safe travels for both groups as they return to Madang this next weekend.
· For endurance for our co-worker Martha and the Mbore team as they continue making spelling, punctuation, and grammatical corrections in the text of the Mborena Kam New Testament. Their current work session must end on Wednesday. Pray for wisdom to know the best strategy for completing this vital step so that this precious New Testament can be published. Pray that the men will not become discouraged by what looks like a mountain of work still ahead when they had thought they were finished.
· For Mike, local church and community leaders, and others involved in planning for the Hope for a Better Future church conference in early October. Many important details are still pending (including, like last year, not having a confirmed venue a month before the conference begins!).
· For our son Josh, who leaves Australia after nearly two years to return to the U.S. this week. Pray especially that God will quickly provide a suitable car for him to purchase.
