Let’s Celebrate 30 Years Together!

So many of you have been such an important part of our first 30 years.

  • You’ve prayed.
  • You’ve served.
  • You’ve donated.
  • You’ve taught.
  • You’ve given.
  • You’ve loved.

We want to celebrate our partnership with you on a special evening during ICOM (International Conference on Missions) in Columbus, OH this fall. We’ll take a look back. We’ll share some new dreams. We’ll thank God for his guidance, provision, and blessings. And we’ll eat. After all, what’s a party without cake?

New York Institute of Technology Awards RoRo the Riland Medal

We are pleased to announce that RoRo has been selected by the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and School of Health Care Professions to receive the Riland Medal of Public Service for his work in establishing Peredo Community Hospital.

The Riland Medal is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the enhancement of the health care workforce, medical education, health policy, community advocacy, osteopathic philosophy, research, academic leadership, and graduate medical education. The medal is named in honor of NYIT founding trustee, W. Kenneth Riland, D.O., whose efforts contributed to the establishment of NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In his address to students, RoRo said, “Professionalism, in your mind, may sound like a value related to performance, competency, or technical skill.  For me, it is that, but it is so much more. To me, professionalism goes beyond the rules of any given profession. It is ultimately about respecting others. It is about caring & compassion. Without compassion, we ought to fail professionally.”

RoRo and Eline, along with Mac & Michelle Burberry, were the guests of Dr. Ed Gottfried, Director of the Center for Global Health, and Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee, Dean of the School.
