Planting Hope 2016
RoRo says, “Kids are the hope of Haiti. We give them, not just an education, but Christ. And then they take Christ home to their families. That is why we exist.” School starts in HCO’s six schools on September 7. As children in the U.S. go back to school, it’s a great time to become an Every Child Sponsor  and give $12/month to provide quality education, a Biblical worldview, preventive healthcare, and proper nutrition.

Grand Bois Medical Outreach Clinic

Partnering with NYIT, our doctors and medical staff in Peredo are able to exchange knowledge and experiences with medical students and instructors. It’s a partnership that benefits the Haitians that live in the Southeast, and the Americans that come to Haiti to learn about global health. Mobile clinics like the one we hosted in Grand Bois are just one more way that HCO works in communities to point Southeast Haiti to Christ. Read more!

Pray With Us in August

The most important way you can partner with us is to pray with us! Each month, join us in praising God for his goodness and humbly asking him to provide for our needs. Please pray with us and share this month’s specific praises and prayer needs with your friends, church, and mission team: August 2016 Prayer Points

Classes start on September 7th, and it is never too early to get a coveted spot in school. Principal Sorel has been busy getting students registered in Peredo. Also, we want to introduce you to a new staff member for our schools. We have a new administrator that will oversee all of the Emmanuel Christian Schools. Toto Desirae, Jr. just started working for the mission this summer.

Cameron shares some poignant thoughts from the first Saturday morning in Peredo after the final summer team left for the US. It may feel obvious to state, but it is true. Our Haitian staff, buoyed by the friendship and help of our American friends, will keep doing something for Haiti that will last. Every. Single. Day.

We had a surprise visitor on campus last Thursday! It was Lolo! It was a nice homecoming as she made her second trip back to Peredo Christian Camp in the last year since she started cancer treatments. There were plenty hugs, kisses, and teasing as she visited with her friends, the staff, and others. Click the link for more!

We love short-term trips. We love teams. We love when teams guest blog about their short-term trip to Haiti. Wonder what it’s like to go on a trip with HCO? Want to be reminded by a fellow short-termer how great a trip can be? Click the link to enjoy Mike Blevins’ guest post and photos from his trip! Mike says, “The Haitian people are special and have great value! HCO is special and has great value!”

Our campus mural project has grown again! The team from Lindside CC (WV) contributed another two new panel designs. They incorporated the solar lights with Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a light to my path, and a lamp to my feet.” Click for more photos!
