You may have seen in the news last weekend that Haiti broke out in protest when an announcement was made Friday about a significant increase in gas prices. Protests are not uncommon in Haiti, however these escalated quickly.
We had a youth team from Tennessee that had just arrived on Thursday. They were never in immanent danger, but with rising uncertainty about the political climate in Haiti, we decided it was safest to bring them home. They were transported by helicopter and then charter plane to the Dominican Republic and they all arrived at home last night! What an adventure! We are so thankful for their safe travels home, and for insurance that will cover these expenses. Read what Kathryn M. said about her experience below. We always remind our teams that flexibility is key when traveling to Haiti, but this team was amazing!
Things have calmed slightly over the past 48 hours, but the situation is volatile and unpredictable. We ask that you come alongside KORE and pray for our staff and farmers. Pray for stability and peace in Haiti.
In the midst of uncertainty, our ministry continues. We are working through new logistical challenges and are facing many unbudgeted expenses. Please consider making a donation today, and join us in praying for Haiti!

From Kathryn M. Wow these past couple of days in Haiti have definitely been much different than in anticipated, but God was so apparent and just proved to me once again the plan he has for me is ALWAYS better than my own.
We arrived to Mirebalais Thursday night, which is the town where we were supposed to stay for the next 6 days. Friday we got to go out into a nearby community and play with precious kids and love on them and we visited chicken farmers to hear their testimonies. I am so glad we had one day as amazing as this one was and I am still so touched by every story I came across that day. God is doing big things in that country & as well at the KORE foundation and it was so pretty to witness it. Friday came and riots broke out in nearby towns and the town we were in because the people of Haiti don’t have voice in their country. Which is so sad because most of the people we met are lucky to eat one meal each day. I so wished we could have stayed longer and got to share Christ’s love with the kids more but this just proves that God was protecting each of us with safety and was planning something so much different for us than what we had planned. To everyone thank you for the constant encouragement & prayers these past couple days, it means so much! To Haiti this won’t be the last time I see you.. can’t wait to be back in this beautiful country!
