Financial Safeguards for the Church

A Workshop for Church Treasurers, Church Officers, and Pastors.

There is a growing problem with church treasuries being impacted by misuse of funds and stealing.  A broader problem exists from inadequate controls on the way funds are handled and reported.  These may involve honest mistakes or problems in the way church funds are reported that leave the treasurer, pastor, and officers open for unfair accusations and criticism. 

This workshop is designed for the new or inexperienced church treasurer as well as those who are experienced bookkeepers or accountants.  It is also relevant for pastors and officers from the smallest to largest churches.

The Many Uses for Chalet Retreat

Chalet Retreat Ministries has been blessed to be able to serve people for all kinds of needs.  While the most popular reason for coming is for personal rest and relaxation, there are lots of other ways you can make use of our facilities.  Not much makes us happier than seeing the facilities used and enjoyed.  Here are a few more ideas for making use of Chalet Retreat:
 

  • Spiritual and Personal Reflection:  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”  Matthew 11: 28
     
  • Prepare sermon series or Bible study series:  stay in your chalet, visit our library or sit by the creek to get inspiration and hear God’s voice.
     
  • Work on a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation
     
  • Family time to reconnect- set aside the technology and every day distractions to just spend quality time together.  Play board games, go on a hike or cook together.
     
  • Home school getaway:  bond as a group
     
  • Marriage retreat (as a couple or group of couples):  use the fellowship room to, well, fellowship, then separate to your own chalets.
     
  • Women’s retreat, men’s retreat, officer’s retreat, board retreat, etc:  Use our conference room to meet as a group.
     
  • Family reunion:  rent one unit or the whole campus and invite the entire family.
