PRAYER REQUEST:
HEALTH NEWS ABOUT RUTH ANNE AND OUR PLANS FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS: (Trying to find out why all the pain in her back and legs).
Ruth Anne had a Myelogram on Tuesday, December 2 and then two MRI´s on Friday, December 12 at the New River Hospital (Carilion Clinic). We went back to Dr. Michael Mauro, a Spine Specialist on December 18. After much prayer and medical advice Ruth Anne will be having Cervical Surgery on January 20 and then two or three months later have Lombar Surgery to correct all the back problems she has been suffering from for the last few years. We have been staying with Michael and Debbie here in McCoy, Virginia near the hospital and doctors that have been treating Ruth Anne.
Our daughter, Kim Whitacre, will be helping lead the January Amazon Boat Trip and I (Earl) plan to return to Brazil and rejoin the boat a few days after the first surgery. Ruth Anne will remain in Virginia until the first week in February when she will return to Goiânia. Probably sometime in April or May she will return to the U.S. for the Lombar Surgery.
With our good Brazilian leadership in the Amazon and on the boat and with the help of our children, we will continue the Amazon Boat Trips as planned.
