Beginning Friday January 8 we began to receive reports on the death of our Brother Charles Finney in Chennai, India. Over the weekend, we received more detailed information from Tom Mullenix of Twelve21 Mission, Rusty Stafford of Mission Explosion International, and Reggie Thomas of White Fields Overseas Evangelism.
Tragically, it appears that Charles was murdered by two young boys from the orphanage he had begun. These two teens had apparently joined a gang. These boys, and at least two others, are in custody and an investigation is ongoing. It appears they learned that Charles had bee raising funds for typhoon relief and apparently murdered him, burning his body, for the cash.
Many had seen and talked with Charles at the recent ICOM in Richmond, Virginia. Please pray for all involved and the ongoing ministry from the work of Brother Charles Finney.
