Change is in the Air
We have moved our offices to the Center Department of Haiti, in the town of Mirabalais. We will also soon say "Au revoir" to our beloved "Coop" in Gressier, and begin hosting teams here too! (New digs pictured.) We are excited to centralize our staff and teams near the majority of those we serve. Teams will still be led by the fabulous Yvette and Tom Kinman, and they can’t wait to show off our new nest! Our first Impact Team will help us roll up our sleeves in this new location in June!
Of course, we will continue to serve the kids and farmers in and around Gressier. This move is bittersweet for all of us, but we won’t be strangers, and the support of our friends there will continue with the same high level attention from KORE staff. Launch of the Champions Circle
We are excited to announce the launch of the Champions Circle, which is designated for regular (monthly or quarterly) financial partners! This ongoing, faithful support helps us to plan for the future AND allows us to expand our programs with assurance of being able to sustain them. It only costs .14 a day ($3/month) to provide a child with a nutrient rich egg so literally anyone can make a difference. Remember, when you feed a child, you help a farmer provide for his/her family. Champions receive a special monthly newsletter with insider information, prayer reuqests and more.
We are excited to introduce you to one of our new egg farmers, Gelest, pictured with his wife and three of his children. Gelest has been a KORE farmer for several years, but a tree fell on his coop during a recent storm. Luckily KORE provides self-funded insurance to our farmers for catastrophic events like this. The timing of his coop rebuild, combined with his proven work ethic made him a perfect candidate to help us launch this new program!
To date, Gelestin has supplied over 12,000 eggs to school kids in his community through the KORE Kids Feeding Program, which provides an egg a day to children in rural schools! We call that a big WIN/WIN!!!!
