Sir,
we are having Easter dinner with residents tomorrow evening [Wednesday April 12]. Please, pray for us and them.
The staff of the Center in Crimea use every natural opportunity to share the gospel and Christian worldview with its residents and other guests. Easter (or Pascha as it is called in Crimea) is a great opportunity to talk about the origin of the celebration — the resurrection of Christ, and why it is believable and what are its implications.
The staff invites prayer that God may help them to use this opportunity well, and that there will be positive responses among the students. For almost all of the residents, we are still sowing seeds and watering them.
Keep in mind that it is actually illegal to share your beliefs outside of your own church walls, and even there you should not have visitors who might be influenced by your church.
53 people were prosecuted since the law was enacted in July of last year. Forum 18 out of Norway periodically reports on this and other violations of religious freedom.
I leave for Crimea April 21. I have had both encouraging and unsettling news from the field. Old enemies are making old accusations to the occupying government, but I do not expect anyone to act on these allegations. I go in faith (and experience) and counting on the Lord and your prayers.
Pray for our team and the 20 residents and any other guests that come for the Easter dinner … and testimonies to what God has done in history and in today’s lives.
Blessed celebration of the story of Christ and the redemption affirmed in Jesus’ resurrection!
Georges
